Garden Team Member Position Responsibilities:
- Operational tasks associated with hoop-houses and garden soil preparation, planting and crop production as directed by Gardener’s workflow plan
- Plant, nurture, and harvest a variety of crops following organic and sustainable farming practices.
- Keep Garden areas clean and well-maintained, ensuring optimal growing conditions for crops.
- Harvest crops at their peak to maximize quality and yield, contributing to overall farm productivity.
- Implement soil health practices, including composting, cover cropping, and organic amendments.
- Maintenance of greenhouse, hoop-house and wash/pack infrastructure and associated systems (irrigation, tools & equipment)
- Assistance in operational needs associated with propagation and wash/pack
- May be required to operate general and specialized equipment including utility vehicles and tractors with attachments such as loaders and other specialized equipment; fertilizer spreaders, sprayers; etc...
- Utilizes hand and power tools to complete assignments including chain saws, weed-eaters, blowers…
- Routinely inspects equipment and provides maintenance when needed
- Ensures delivery vehicles are clean and well maintained
- Follows all safety guidelines
- Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all company employees. Promotes a cooperative and fair working environment to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency
Garden Team Member Physical Requirements
- Hours may vary due to season and weather conditions
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, heavy lifting and repetitive hand and wrist motion
- Work in hot, cold, and wet conditions with hazardous equipment.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and with a team
