The Registered Professional Nurse III is responsible for conducting a variety of specific training, and staff development programs for clinical personnel consistent with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures and needs of the organization to develop and maintain employee awareness of customer service relations and personal growth.
At the East Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, the Registered Professional Nurse is a valuable member of our team. This position will be responsible to independently develop and implement nursing care plans for patients; provide nursing care treatment and educational services; may assign and direct the work of lower-level registered nurses and nursing assistants; may serve as a charge nurse on an assigned shift and performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.
EDUCATION: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelors Degree is highly desirable.
Evidence of the appropriate training (e.g. official transcript of diploma) should be submitted with the application to be given credit for education. A legible photocopy will be accepted. However, Hilo Medical Center reserves the right to request an official copy.
EXPERIENCE: One-half (1/2) year of professional nursing work experience, where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients in a clinic, hospital, or institution.
CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is required one (1) month after employment. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Please submit copy of certification with the application. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required six (6) months after employment.
LICENSURE: A valid State of Hawaii as a Registered Professional Nurse is required. Evidence of licensure is required with the application.
