Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
- Manage the entire purchasing process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management
- Collaborate with staff to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials
- Oversee logistics and transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and consistent supply of materials
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Lead a team of purchasing professionals and provide guidance and support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in procurement management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of contract management principles and practices
- Proficient in sourcing strategies and supplier evaluation techniques
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Familiarity with logistics operations and transportation management
- Experience working with inventory management software
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers
