The Deposit Operations Manager is also responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of Deposit Operations and Servicing in ensuring the continuity and success of the department’s daily operations. You will also be responsible for assisting in training and developing the team in Deposit Operations Department, as well as assuming responsibility for the department. This position performs posting transactions, answering questions from team members, and handling escalations, in support of the Deposit Operations Department.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing a team that will deliver a high level of member service to internal and external members in alignment with the credit union’s member promise:
- Promises to listen, be responsive to members’ needs, simplify their financial life, and make it easy to do business with us.
- Promises to build valued relationships by discovering members’ needs and recommending relevant products and services.
- Promises to be knowledgeable and respectful - one transaction, one interaction, and one member at a time.
- Oversee Deposit Operations staff responsible for completing assignments in related to member transactions such as ACH, Wire Transfers, Mobile Deposits, Draft Inclearing, Local 134 Vacation Savings, and all other Deposit Operations functions.
- Responsible for hiring staff as well as separation, training, coaching, mentoring, and providing regular written feedback on job performance.
- Escalation of systemic issues, risks, or potential losses to direct supervisor.
- Ensures product procedures are accurate and in compliance.
- Perform testing for new product development, product, and rate changes.
- Assess departmental operations to identify potential improvements and implement change.
- Resolves escalated member issues when necessary.
- Serve as backup manager in the absence of the Senior Manager of Deposit Operations & Servicing.
- Experience - Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
- Education - A 2-year college degree, or completion of a specialized study at school, or extensive in-house training.
- Mgr Responsibilities - Managerial responsibilities to entry level employees - Job title of Lead or Assistant.
- Interpersonal Skills - Significant level of trust and diplomacy is required - Work involves extensive personal contact of personal or sensitive nature.
- Independent Judgement - Makes daily operational decisions, but requires concurrence on out of budget or other strategic direction.
- Mental Process - Problems require a grasp either of proactive/precedents, or theories/principles, or both.
- Organizational Impact - Marginal Impact - budgetary responsibility for a small size department, branch or function.
- Organizational Restraint - Under general management, sets direction for one or more departments.
