Harris County is Hiring a Fixed Asset Specialist Near Houston, TX
- Identify, track, and keep accurate records of all assets.
- Coordinates with departments and divisions in maintaining accurate records of assets.
- Performs periodic asset audits to maintain accurate records at all Harris County Public Health (HCPH) locations.
- Participates in yearly county and state audits.
- Property surplus and dispose of assets according to current Harris County policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned, including responding to emergency events.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in procurement, supply or purchasing.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Must attend training and complete courses in ICS (Emergency Management) methodology and software within one year of hire date.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records and other logistical documents.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in inventory management software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members

- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs., bending and standing for periods of time.
- Able to travel within Harris County, as needed.
