    Summary:
    As a member of the high school staff, your primary responsibility is to help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Teach District-approved curriculum through both direct and inquiry-based instruction.
    • Demonstration of a strong knowledge of subject area being taught.
    • Demonstrates ability to use data to drive instructional decisions.
    • Able to use effective classroom management skills to develop positive working relationships with students and a productive learning environment
    • Effectively apply and integrate technology to support meaningful teaching and successful student learning.
    • Knowledge of and ability to regularly integrate the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning
    • Articulate to students their learning objectives and the reasons for their importance.
    • Understands the diversity of student learning styles and the need for differentiated learning.
    • Provide timely, accurate, constructive, and specific feedback to students regarding their learning.
    • Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records and prepare progress reports and report cards
    • Participates as a part of Individualized Education Program Team (IEPT)/Section 504 meetings when necessary. Assists in the development and implementation of student IEP goals/Section 504 accommodations and instruction based on individual student needs.
    • Maintains accurate records in a manner consistent with state and federal law as required by the District, to include student accommodations as specified in 504 plans and IEPs
    • Communicate frequently with parents and guardians by such means as conferences, newsletters, notes, telephone calls, and email – both during and outside the school day.
    • Participate in continual professional growth opportunities which are aligned with school and District priorities.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a department/grade level
    • Participates in District level staff meetings, in-service activities, staff development/special programs, school improvement teams and planning committees as appropriate to the assignment.
    • Represent the Harper Creek Community Schools in an affirmative manner in the community.
