    NOTICE OF AVAILABLE POSITION


    Notice is hereby given that the following position is available 2023-24 School Year in the Harper Creek Community School District, Battle Creek, Michigan
    POSITION
    1- High School Physical Education/Health Teacher
    Must have a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate subject and grade level endorsement for grades 9-12. May consider someone receiving a teaching certificate though Teachers of Tomorrow or a similar program.
    SUMMARY:
    To create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish Effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation to educate, empower, and equip students for life; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Teach district-approved curriculum in a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guide toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and project and communicates these objectives to students. Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records and prepares progress reports. Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.

The Teacher needs to be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level and subject area endorsements.
