Harlem Link Charter School is Hiring a Learning Support Provider (Grades K-5) Near New York, NY

At Harlem Link, we seek Learning Support Providers (LSPs) who are passionate about youth development, committed to serving the Harlem community and deeply focused on caring for children. Harlem Link’s LSPs are responsible for supporting the school’s academic and social-emotional programming, as well as supervising lunch and recess. Our LSPs use our foundational principles of Responsive Classroom practices, Emotionally Responsive practices, and Anti-Bias Anti Racist practices to structure empowering learning communities. LSPs at Harlem Link are outcome-oriented, hard working, creative thinkers, receptive to feedback, solutions oriented, and put in the time necessary to ensure our students meet their academic and social-emotional benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Two years of experience working with children preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Support school’s instructional program and Code of Conduct, specifically in the breakfast, lunch and recess settings;
  • Assist with supervision of children and maintenance of order during the breakfast, lunch and recess hours;
  • Help meals and recess to be a learning time for social, emotional and decision making skills;
  • Appropriately record and consistently follow up with students regarding behavioral choices;
  • Model for children Harlem Link’s Core Values: Kindness, Responsibility, Integrity, Courage, Wonder and Patience;
  • Communicate with families about their child’s attendance and behavior;
  • Assist with dismissal of students on school buses;
  • Serve as bus matron (if appropriate) in the morning and afternoon;
  • Conduct phone calls as needed to families for clerical or student-related purposes;
  • Log information into student databases housed in Google Sheets and Student Information System.

Compensation, Benefits and Hours

  • The salary range for this position is $30,000-45,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Harlem Link is committed to providing our team with a range of benefit offerings at a competitive value. Benefits are provided in accordance with school policy.
  • Teachers are required to be at the building from 7:30am - 3:45pm. Teachers also begin the school year in mid-August for a mandatory two-week Summer Institute training.
