What You'll Be Doing

Overview

Supports the design of larger and more complex automation and controls engineering assignments and/or small automation projects. This position can be expected to operate as the technical lead on smaller projects or part of a project team that completes complex tasks within the job function under some supervision. 

• Configure and develop Foxboro Evo, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, ABB, Yokogawa, and/or Honeywell TDC Control System applications per project specifications
• Develop Foxboro Evo, Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa, and/or Honeywell TDC programming that will allow plant operations to control process manufacturing equipment
• Work in a team environment with engineers and specialists from Hargrove and our clients

Ideal Background

Qualifications

• 5 years of developing and implementing Foxboro Evo, ABB, Yokogawa, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Honeywell TDC, or other DCS systems 
• B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology (Significant experience can replace degree requirement)
• 3 minimum years of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering.
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
• Experience in the design, implementation, testing/FAT/SAT, deployment/installation, and startup/commissioning for automation projects.
• Ability to understand and implement the current version of OSHA 1910.119 Management of Change, ISA S88 programming standards, IEC 61131 programming languages and standards.
• Understands and can communicate scope, schedule, and deliverables to project team.
• Recognizes and communicates scope and design changes promptly to Project Engineer or Lead.
• Completes on-site commissioning and start-up activities as part of a project team. Provides technical guidance to less experienced C&A Teammates.
• Can lead development of project related documentation that can include:

• • Site acceptance testing procedures

• • Cutover procedures

• • Scope of work documents

• • Communications data map tables

• • Graphic layouts and template

• • Control module templates

• • Bill of material

• • Loop and I/O listings

• • Factory acceptance testing procedures documentation

• • DCS and/or PLC platform specific specifications

• Intermediate troubleshooting skills for control systems to include:
  • Software problems in the field.
  • Networking problems in the field.
  • I/O problems in the field.
  • Hardware issues in the field.
• Ability to work in a Virtual team environment.
• Ability to mentor Co-Ops and less experienced teammates.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products.
• Ability to lead a small team to deliver on project commitments.
• Ability to work in a Virtual team environment.
• Performs or leads configuration on any of the following controls system components and programming languages:
