Description
Principal Duty
The ResidentAutomation Controls Technician supports our customer on automation topics related to controls and software. This position must possess a broad-based electrical, mechanical and controls skillset along with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the site's performance. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Controls Technician must represent the TGW image at all times and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
This position is based at our customer facility in Columbus, Ohio.
Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and controls issues as quickly and practically as possible to achieve optimum performance. Perform root cause analyses, document troubleshooting steps, and record controls solutions.
2. Coordinate with internal Controls Department for enhancements, upgrades, and change control.
3. Complete maintenance activities pertaining to automated equipment onsite,
4. Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
5. Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
6. Collaborate with broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.

Requirements Profile

1. Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material-handling equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
3. Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens preferred) and SCADA.
4. Strong ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for use in diagnostics.
5. Experience with Profibus and Profinet.
6. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
7. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
8. Ability to travel up to 15%.

13. Exposed to moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts and electricity that require safety protocols
14. Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand
15. Must be able to understand the speech of others
16. Must be able to hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
17. Must be able to focus on one source of sound and ignore others
18. Must be able to determine from which direction a sound came
19. Must be able to use critical PPE correctly
20. Exposed to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather based on geographic region
