Harbor is Hiring a Remote Vice President of Talent, Global Total Rewards

Harbor is seeking a Vice President of Talent, Global Total Rewards to join our rapidly growing team. The VP of Talent is responsible for the development, execution, communication and administration of Harbor’s global compensation, benefits, wellness, mobility and recognition programs that will enable the company to attract, reward and retain top talent. This individual is a hands-on strategic leader within the total rewards function that will partner with the Chief Talent Officer, leadership team and overall business to enhance the employee experience and elevate Harbor as destination employer. This is a full-time position that can be worked remotely in the US or Canada. We prefer candidates that can work in a hybrid capacity from either Chicago, IL or Moncton, NB (Canada) but open to anyone remote willing to work east coast time zone hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategy, design and administration of compensation programs and processes, including base pay, merit, short/long-term incentives, leveling, reporting and market analysis.
  • Creates a compensation strategy that aligns with performance and motivates high potential employees and future leaders.
  • Develops and executes the global total rewards strategy; assess, optimizes, and upgrades the total rewards programs to ensure the right mix of offerings.
  • Develops the global benefits strategy; Oversees and manages multiple country benefit service providers and ensure annual rollout, enrollment, and renewals; Ensures global standards, costs, liabilities, regulatory compliance, and related issues are known and effectively managed.
  • Provide strategic direction, functional expertise and support to Talent, business leaders and executives regarding HR policy, decisions, and interpretation.
  • Spearheads an assessment of global competitiveness of rewards programs to gain an understanding of market trends and changing conditions.
  • Oversees the global Mobility policy, programs, and process, including relocation and immigration.
  • Ensures global compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversees the global safety, wellness and recognition programs.
  • Other projects as needed/assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration or a related field is required.
  • At least 15 years of hands-on experience in total rewards including compensation strategy and design, benefits plan design, analysis, deployment, analytics, reporting, and compliance.
  • At least 5 years of management experience required.
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence and Private Equity backed organizations is highly desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of compensation programs, including executive, sales, short/long-term incentives globally.
  • Strong negotiation and consultative skills with the ability to partner with and influence people at all levels.
  • Ability to undertake competitive benchmarking and process the outcomes into meaningful analysis and recommendations for action.
  • Strong analytical skills and solutions oriented.
  • Highly collaborative and adept a working in fast paced, growth-oriented organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills including ability to develop highly organized and motivated teams.
  • Able to travel as needed.
