Position: Math Teacher

Renner Academy is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced math teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics for grades 1-8, a strong understanding of the subject matter, and the ability to inspire and engage students.

Renner Academy is a private non-profit school that specializes in educating students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. With caring and knowledgeable teachers and staff and an environment that allows students to feel safe and supported, Renner Academy empowers students to reach their fullest potential as learners, thinkers, and leaders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive math lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active student participation and fosters a love for mathematics.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  4. Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  5. Identify individual student needs and implement appropriate interventions or modifications to ensure all students can succeed.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the math curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  7. Establish effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  8. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  9. Participate in professional development activities and stay updated on the latest teaching methods, curriculum developments, and assessment techniques.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  2. Valid teaching certification.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  4. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  5. Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.
  6. A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equity.
