Happy Camper Learning Services in College Station, TX, is seeking a dyslexia intervention teacher to join our team. Our mission is to provide personalized instruction in Academic Language Skills to students facing dyslexia and other language and literacy challenges. Our campus is conveniently located at 6134 Imperial Loop Dr. in College Station. This position is dedicated to Happy Camper Learning Services and involves afternoon and evening sessions. However, while you’re here you might discover our sister school, Renner Academy, as an appealing opportunity in the future as well. We're searching for an ideal candidate who is proficient in an Orton-Gillingham-based structured literacy program and possesses a natural talent for connecting with and inspiring disheartened learners.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute individualized learning plans for students
• Deliver diagnostic and prescriptive Academic Language Skills instruction, typically in a one-on-one setting
• Foster a positive and nurturing learning atmosphere
• Collaborate with parents to discuss recommendations and monitor progress

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Previous experience as a certified educator
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Formal dyslexia training (e.g., Neuhaus, Take Flight, Wilson, etc.) is preferred but not mandatory, provided you demonstrate proficiency in Structured Literacy and language-based learning differences.

Details:

• We compensate our instructors for the time spent working with students, including an additional 15 minutes for planning for every 75-minute tutoring session.
• You have the option to work with students on-site or virtually from the comfort of your home.
• Tutors can set their own hours and choose the number of groups they wish to work with each semester. While we offer flexibility, we do ask tutors to minimize cancellations and rescheduling once they commit to a semester schedule.
• Our tutors generally prefer not to work on Fridays or weekends, but tutors are free to choose any hours outside of the Renner Academy school day.
