Haney, Inc. is Hiring a Press Operator Near Cincinnati, OH
First Shift Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm *Overtime work is occasionally required based on production needs
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3 years’ experience operating an in-line multi-color flexographic printing press utilizing water-based inks
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties
- Effective interpersonal skills and team player
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action
- Proficient knowledge of production materials, quality methods, and color standards are necessary
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with advanced computer required
- Must occasionally be able to lift and/or move 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the printing and laminating materials while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions
- Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor
- Adheres to all BRC Food Safe packaging compliance and wears required PPE’s: Eye and ear protection, steel toe shoes, hair/beard net with clean work attire
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments and completes all required equipment maintenance duties
- Operates press to produce printed and laminated packaging in accordance to customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency
- Completes make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct printing plates, print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used
- Provide solventless lamination of flexible packaging substrates in accordance with the Job Ticket and specified materials and adhesives to deliver quality
- Ensure conformance to all critical quality checks including copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion
- Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC and Haney Packaging standards
- Inputs all required information into the EPMS Job Tracking System for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner
