Handicare USA, Inc. is Hiring a Field Service Technician Near Boston, MA
- Perform service, repair and preventative maintenance of Handicare products. Products include, but are not limited to: ceiling track lifting systems, stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps bathing systems, etc. Customer sites consist of hospitals, long term care facilities as well as private residences.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems over phone or during field visits and determine proper solutions.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports
- Install ceiling track lift systems, stairlifts and other products per Handicare standards as required
- Perform on site surveys at prospective installation sites for the purpose of gathering all required information to plan and complete a ceiling track lift, stairlift or other product installation as required.
- Interact directly with staff at Hospitals, Nursing Homes, private residences, Group Homes, etc. while performing the above functions
- Build positive relationships with customers
- Train the end users of the equipment on the operational aspects of the equipment sold and installed, including technical and repair training to facility maintenance staff.
- Adhere to established processes and policies
- Maintain the company service and installation vehicle in good operating condition and cleanliness.
- Maintain the van inventory in an orderly fashion, at proper levels and account for all items used in the performance of service and installation functions.
- Travel to out of state job sites as directed by supervisor.
- Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing working schedules as required

- Ability to read and comprehend instruction, correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years of related experience and or training; preferably in building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing methods.
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification required; OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Proficiency in ERP software, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics (AX12).
- This position may travel up to 25% of the time. Some overnight travel required.
- This position works in an environment with loud noise levels. This position may frequently work near moving parts, be exposed to vibration and be exposed to airborne particles & dust. This position will occasionally work in high, precarious places and be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
