A world-renowned and reputable multi-strategy hedge fund located in the San Francisco Bay Area is looking to hire a Fund Formation Counsel for their lean team at the company's HQ office location! The team is looking for an individual with big law experience to make the move in-house to focus on fund formation and investor relations matters, and offering a unique opportunity to grow in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

This hire will be responsible for helping with all fund formation, investor relations matters, and regulatory analyses, primarily launching new investment products and assisting with fundraises. Along with providing support for investor due diligence and working with senior investment team members, this hire will also have the chance to work on other miscellaneous projects within different areas of interest (securities laws, privacy, alternative data, etc).

The firm is ideally looking for candidates with 3-6 years of experience at a big law firm, significant fund formation experience, prior experience running fundraises independently, knowledge of the Investment Advisors Act and other securities laws and regulations, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with fund formation, investor relations, and regulatory analyses
• Launching new investment products
• Working closely with senior investment and investor relations professionals
• Providing support and review for investor due diligence

Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of experience in a big law firm setting
• Significant fund formation experience
• Prior experience running fundraises independently or portions of fundraises independently
• Collaborative and the ability to work with senior management and other team members effectively
• Willingness to work onsite 3x a week in the San Francisco HQ
