Hamilton Enterprises, LLC, a CPA, Management, and IT consulting firm, is seeking qualified and available Financial Analyst to support a Federal client in Denver, Colorado. The position is full-time and contract.
Job Description:
§ Support the financial systems and support client’s continued maintenance and compliance with federal regulations as established by OMB, DOI and to maintain the high standards that the client has for its applications
§ Resolve holds and rejects in Collections and Billings System (CBS) interfaces, as well as any other interface issues in a timely manner
§ Analyze discrepancies in CBS data identified by users, reports, reconciliations, or Statements of Difference with Treasury, and resolves them timely and accurately.
§ Responds to changes in Financial and Business Management System, Treasury, or other partners and take actions as necessary to ensure CBS compliance
§ Test changes and enhancements to CBS and other Administrative Tools
§ Test changes for Financial and Business Management System releases applicable to CBS
§ Resolve all credit card and Automated Clearing House (ACH) collection and chargeback issues
§ Perform reconciliations as needed for the Red Rocks Recreation Site and/or other sites
§ Review Commodity/Subject/Action (CSAP) requests to ensure accounting data is complete and in compliance with treasury accounting symbols
§ Monitor activities for CBS year-end processes, including testing during and after conversion and critical year-end dates
§ Review nightly Data Integrity Checks and corrects as required to ensure compliance
§ Provide report to fund accountants on the Application for Permit to Drill (APD) fee collections as required
§ Provide monthly reports on zero-dollar free pass transactions
§ Attend and actively participates in meetings such as the CBS Functional and Technical Team meeting, the Monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting, and the Weekly FBMS BIO Production Call
§ Participate in the review and evaluation of financial systems for effectiveness of internal controls and integrity of the bureau’s financial information
§ Analyze processing flows, reviews data in reports and financial statements, and identifies abnormal trends and control weakness
§ Review and reconcile internal reports produced by the financial management system in order to determine compatibility of prior month’s status, and processes adjustments to correct or update reports.
§ Recommend adaptation of established procedures to eliminate problems or improve the operations
§ Analyze processing flows, integration of external system interfaces, and internal subsystem modules
§ Evaluate financial system software by preparing test scenarios for new releases, enhancements, and existing features of the software and by conduction actual testing and documenting results
§ Serve as the back-up to the CBS Systems Accountant
§ Provide accurate, timely, and friendly customer service and assistance to
§ BLM and other federal agency employees consistent with desk procedures and applicable BLM directives and guidance
§ Keep the BLM Supervisor informed of any complex problems/issues
§ Provide financial accounting support for the CBS. The high level overview of the services required to do such is as follows, but not limited to 1) Ensure adherence to the all departmental and bureau policy, and 2) Monthly status reporting in a format agreed upon by the COR
