HALO seeks a Business Intelligence and Data Analyst to join our BI and Reporting team as a part of the Business Transformation Office. In this critical and high visibility role, you will enable and provide enterprise-wide business intelligence, reporting and data analysis and support all areas of HALO’s business, operations, and finance functions. You will learn and become intimately familiar with all aspects of HALO’s business and supporting data. You will produce reporting and insights for our senior leaders and executive team. You will support quality, single source of truth data, use of data to drive decision-making, and overall sound data stewardship. You will advance HALO’s data journey and transformation. The successful candidate will be curious, tenacious, driven, and enjoy solving complex problems. 

Note this is a business-facing, consultative role, NOT an IT or technical position.  

Responsibilities

  • Solve business problems using data!
  • Design and develop well-organized, insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support strategic business decisions
  • Champion and be the main subject matter expert for dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and data visualizations 
  • Work with business leaders and cross-functional teams on data analytics needs
  • Define and document requirements; provide solutions based on requirements 
  • Troubleshoot and track issues to resolution by developing ad hoc analytics and reporting 
  • Assist in development of data management and data governance within the organization, including data stewardship in partnership with the business 
  • Work with technical and functional teams to identify data anomalies and ensure data quality 
  • Ensure proper security of all dashboards and data visualizations. 
  • Support maintenance and governance of HALO’s reporting and visualization platforms 
  • Provide change management, training, and communication to the user community in order to effectively use tools and systems
  • Increase user adoption and understanding of the business intelligence platform 
  • Stay informed of new trends and best practices in business intelligence, data analytics and determine if there are opportunities for the company to improve
  • Contribute to department effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives of the current data process and provide feedback to advance data operations 

Requirements

  • 3 years of professional experience with BI tools and quantitative analysis, data modeling, reporting, relational database tools, data warehousing, database architecture, SQL 
  • Prior consulting experience, with strong business orientation preferred; understanding the flow of data and business processes, experience with data governance and stewardship 
  • Quantitative financial and data analysis, structured thinking and problem solving abilities with ability to analyze data to identify patterns, root cause and business opportunities 
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, and/or summarizing large amounts of data into actionable intelligence to drive business decisions 
  • Exposure to industry-standard data warehouse and business intelligence tools (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau) 
  • Understanding of Visual Basic, BI Tools (including Tableau, Snowflake)
  • Advanced SQL, MS Access, Excel skills (data manipulation, Pivot Tables, vLookup, VBA) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cognitive ability 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to self-manage tasks and projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexibly accept dynamically changing priorities while achieving deadlines 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail and or promotional products industry and ERP experience 
  • Certificate in business analytics, data mining, or data science 
  • Experience with commercial ETL platforms and in-depth knowledge data transformation 
  • Familiarity with BIRST Business Intelligence experience 
  • Experience with R, Python, or a similar scripting language 

Compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to HALO at the time of the posting and does not include any potential benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The estimated base salary range for this position is between $100,000 to $115,000 USD.
