HallKeen Assisted Living Communities is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Norwood, MA

The Human Resource Generalist will assist the Vice President of Organizational Development in the development, implementation, and coordination of the Human Resource policies and programs covering employment, benefits, training, placement, safety and health, and employee services subject to guidelines.The position is responsible to assist in all benefit administration in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations in covering employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following essential functions are the fundamental job duties of the position to be completed with or without appropriate reasonable accommodation.

  • Coordinates Human Resource policies and programs covering employment, training, salary administration, placement, safety and health, benefits, and employee services.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of policies and legislation that relates to the Human Resource function; represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.
  • Assists VP Of Organizational Development with the compliance of the Human Resource function including recruiting, interviewing, orientation, training, performance appraisals, and compensation, exit interviews; accurate maintenance of employee records including personnel files.
  • Assist VP as needed to counsel managers and employees regarding policies, procedures and benefits.
  • Counsel managers on employee disciplinary issues and ensure proper procedure is being followed as it relates to discipline and conflict resolution.
  • Oversees benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and annual Benefit Open Enrollment.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of regulatory reports related to Human Resources and benefit plans including plan audits and tax filing.
  • Assist/Back-up Payroll Department and Payroll Accountant as needed with Payroll or Accounting Reconciliation.
  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation claims, OSHA compliance, annual Workers’ Compensation audit schedules.
  • Participate/Support recruitment efforts, job postings, pre-employment screening and background check process.
  • Support Division with New Hire Orientation and benefit enrollment.
  • Investigate and mediate employee complaints.
  • Understand and follow all Federal and State laws; FSLA, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration; knowledge of personnel laws and procedures; knowledge of risk management, effective communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and under pressure; deals with confidential and sensitive issues; and the ability to relate well to others. Problem-solving ability is important.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience with responsibility for driving and implementing overall HR strategy
  • Passion for solving problems and digging into the details, as required
  • Adaptable, clear and analytical thinker with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all business units
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous work environment
  • Experience leading significant organizational change, including hands-on implementation
  • Strong communicator: verbal and written
  • Experience in conflict resolution

· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Demands:

  • Physically able to move at least 20 lbs. without assistance.
  • Physically able to bend, reach, and work in small areas.
  • Physically able to push and pull equipment and furnishings
