Supervisor- Excavation Crew

We are a busy family-owned excavation and paving company. We are looking to hire a reliable Supervisor for our Excavation crew to join the Hagar team. As a Supervisor of our Excavation team, you must be reliable, responsible, committed to working safely and be motivated to do their best with a positive attitude.

Supervisor duties include but not limited to the following: 

• Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews

• Oversees and coordinates the activities of field employees.
• Recognizes and addresses issue/problems that may arise among crew members and provides effective resolutions
• Identifies needs and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates these to the appropriate persons
• Reviews and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production schedules
• Identifies, verifies, and reports any scheduling conflicts with other crews and subcontractors to the appropriate persons
• Translates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for each teammate
• Accountable for following project plans and schedules, ensuring that crews perform activities to meet production goals
•  Assesses competency and capability of employees on the project, and evaluates the capabilities of the crew members
• Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be experienced with knowledge of project construction scope, grades, slopes and the ability to understand project plans and drawings 

• Ability to interpret project specifications. 
• Must possess a strong knowledge of scheduling and planning.
• Ideal candidate will have knowledge in electronic layout such as Trimble, Total Station etc.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Must possess excellent time management skills
• Must possess a clean driver’s license

Work Conditions / Physical Demands:· Normally standing with freedom of movement on a regular basis.· Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.· Work will occur outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions such as rain, ice, snow and heat.· Will often be required to work long hours and sometimes nights and weekends during the construction and plowing season.· Regular physical activity requires walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting · Work environment is in a road construction setting, which includes exposure to various hazards such as dust, vehicle traffic, elevated noise levels, etc.
