H.W. Jenkins Company seeks to hire a contractor sales representative to join our sales team. We are a privately held, well-established lumber and millwork supply company located in Memphis, Jackson, TN and Hernando and Byhalia MS.
Essential Job Functions
This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop a great career in sales. As a Contractor Sales Representative you are responsible for identifying potential customers and building positive relationships. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Selling lumber, millwork, and other building materials for new construction projects
· Interpreting blueprints, calculating takeoffs, producing material estimates and sales proposals
· Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
· Conduct research to identify potential customers and sales opportunities
· Regular site visits to plan and evaluate customers' needs, ensuring prompt and accurate service.
· Coordinate with sales support, operations, and vendor resources to secure business and attain sales goals.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in outside sales or account management
· Knowledge of lumber and millwork products and the building process
· Excellent selling, communications, and negotiation skills
· Highly motivated and energetic
· Email, Microsoft Office and Takeoff software
Experience
· 1-2 years of experience in the building materials supply or construction industry. Lumber and millwork sales, new construction and commercial projects preferred
· Existing relationships in the industry are a plus
