Gypsum Express LTD, a leading flatbed carrier, is looking to fill the position of Safety Manager/Director In our Baldwinsville, NY location. This candidate must be able to promote a safe and compliant environment for our Gypsum truck drivers. Candidate should know various aspects of the trucking industry. Individual should be, highly motivated, and organized with strong computer skills, good follow-up skills and ability to prioritize workload. Must have proven people skills and be able to handle multiple tasks. Flexibility and attention to detail a must. Knowledge of logs, accident investigation and D.O.T. regulations a plus. Other skills include:

· Ability to evaluate and analyze employee performance

· Requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

· Capability to discuss delicate situations with drivers in a discreet manner

· Trucking background a plus

Duties include, but not limited to the following:

· Driver training/coaching

· Accident investigation

· Administrator hours of service training

· Oversee orientation process

Qualifications:

• Experience managing a Safety Department of a trucking company over 250 drivers
• Possess strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Work quickly and accurately with a large volume and high pressure situations
• CDL-A driving experience big plus
