Gurwin Healthcare System is Hiring a Staffing Coordinator Near Commack, NY

Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 34-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes a Certified Home Health and Licensed Home Care Agencies, 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, social and medical adult day programs and on-site dialysis. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences) and our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens).Our off-site continuum includes the Island Nursing and Rehab Center which is a 120-bed facility located in Holtsville, NY.

We are currently seeking a Staffing Coordinator who will be responsible for Home Health Aide (HHA) scheduling, maximizing monthly service hours, maintaining excellent customer service standards with all contract personnel, coordinating with support services where necessary, provides excellent Intake for new inquiries, filing reports and related correspondence, and ensuring compliance in all areas of responsibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain accurate weekly client/HHA schedules.

Monitor employee availability to ensure all active employees are scheduled for maximum hours available.

Ensure all necessary communications to clinical staff is delivered on time.

Coordinate with payroll and billing to ensure accurate and timely service documentation is submitted and maintained within the computer system.

Follow operating guidelines related to Coordination i.e. complaint process, intake, paid time off processing.

Ensures that all necessary HHA and client documentation is maintained in scheduling system.

Collect and prepare weekly and monthly reports for contracts, and Manager(s).

Prepare reports timely and accurately, such as satisfaction surveys and other reports as assigned by management.

Responsible for on-call and on–call coverage, that the function is managed in a highly effective manner.

Maintains appropriate level of confidentiality consistent with HIPAA regulations. Adheres to the Compliance policy and procedures.

Successfully meet targeted performance indicators.

Perform duties in a safe manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma/GED required; college degree preferred.Computer literate, competence with the MS Office suite required.Excellent interpersonal skills required.Prior experience in a home health care setting preferred.Previous supervision experience over HHA. Bi-lingual speech preferred.
