Gulf Distributing Services Company is Hiring an Off-Premise Sales Manager Near Huntsville, AL

JOB SUMMARY

The Off-Premise Sales Manager is a senior management leadership role, responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the sales and merchandising activities in all off-premise accounts at the assigned location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees, leads, and manages Off Premise Sales Team at location, including recruitment, hiring, firing, and training of Off Premise Sales Team.
  2. Continually directs and monitors Off Premise Sales Team in the areas of marketing plan goals, sales, new placements, distribution, rotation, code dates, pricing, POS, displays, and cooler position.
  3. Properly communicates annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals and other important information to team and manage execution.
  4. Assists the General Manager in the development, implementation, and success of incentive programs that support and improve the sales of the company.
  5. Develops and implements sales strategies to achieve company objectives and maximize revenue.
  6. Assists in ensuring that retail customers pay invoices in full in a timely manner, assists in collecting any short-pay from customers.
  7. Assists in managing quality assurance, including close-dated or out-of-date product in customer accounts, and review other processes to ensure maximum quality and product freshness.
  8. Identifies and pursues new business opportunities, including market research and competitor analysis.
  9. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and suppliers.
  10. Works in tandem with GDH Chain Team, Craft Team, and Red Bull Team to all increase the sales volume and revenue of the company.
  11. Monitors sales performance, analyzing data, and preparing sales reports for management.
  12. Collaborates with marketing and product development teams to ensure effective product positioning and marketing campaigns.
  13. Participates in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the company's network and enhance brand visibility.
  14. Perform all work activities in accordance with the safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
  15. Willingly completes other duties as assigned to meet the strategic and operational and financial objectives of GDH.

Supervision

  1. Directs the daily workflow of the location’s off premise sales department.
  2. Uses strengths-based management so each person supervised comes to know his/her own strengths and weaknesses and uses strengths in day-to-day work.
  3. Ensures that each employee supervised has opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  4. Provides clear expectations for each supervised staff.
  5. Models’ adherence to GDH’s Mission and Values and holds staff accountable for knowing and practicing the values.
  6. Completes coaching regularly of supervised staff and annual a performance evaluation on due date.
  7. Provides direct supervision to the General Managers and other operations managers.

  1. Actively participates in internal and external training opportunities.
  2. Exhibits enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.

Community Partnership

  1. Represents GDH Mission and Values and follows GDH Mission and Values within the community at all times.

Technology

  1. Effectively uses office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners), a personal computer and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer.

Efficiently uses operations management software, including VIP.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Preferred bachelor’s degree.
  2. At least 5 years of industry-related experience, including three years in sales management required.
  3. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with transportation management software. Prior use of VIP or similar software package.
  4. Personable, highly organized, detail oriented.
  5. Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  6. Demonstrated ability to:
  • Work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community.
  • Work effectively as a member of the leadership team.
  • Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
  • Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently (50% of the time) required to walk and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently (50% of time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently (50% of time) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Occasionally (less than 25% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Frequently (more than 50% of time) travel throughout the GDH sites.
  • Occasional (less than 25% of time) weekend and/or overtime work, primarily at start-up or when taking on new business.
