GTG-JAX LLC is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Jacksonville, FL

Level I Electrical Technicians are part of a team developed to maintain and improve the operation of GTG Jacksonville production equipment and the maintenance and improvement of GTG Jacksonville facilities, including offices, warehouses, and grounds.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnoses and corrects cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of production equipment;
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment;
  • Perform building and support equipment maintenance and repair;
  • Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing of equipment and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards;
  • Maintain, install, and when directed, remove facility electrical systems such as fans, cameras, telephone/communication systems, Video, Television, P.C., P.A. systems, alarms wiring, and other equipment normally found in a manufacturing environment;
  • Assists higher-level electrical and mechanical technicians;
  • Report to management any issues which affect or may affect production and safety;
  • Working alone or with others to develop and test operating procedures;
  • Follows OSHA and ANSI requirements when working on and repairing electrical equipment.
Knowledge of the following:
  • Motor and motor controls;
  • Digital and analog devices;
  • AC / DC circuit troubleshooting;
  • Linear feedback control systems;
  • Adjustable speed motor controls;
  • Power distribution / protective devices;
  • Closed loop positioning systems;
  • Industrial wiring;
  • Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Required);
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required);
  • Electrical/Electronics: 2 years (Required);
  • Motor Controls: 1 year (Required).
Housekeeping:
  • Clean and replace electrical cabinet air filters;
  • Keep the work area clean and return unused components to the proper areas.
Safety:
  • Follows lock-out-tag-out procedures when working on equipment;
  • Wears the required safety equipment for working around electrical equipment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Technical skills in the following areas.
Other Requirements needed:
  • Ability to work safely in a multi-functional team environment;
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities;
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Motivated self-starter;
  • Must maintain excellent safety and attendance performance.
