Growing Together is Hiring a Field Support Manager Near Tulsa, OK

Job Summary: The Field Support Manager will work under the leadership of and report directly to the Communities In Schools Program Director. The Field Support Manager will oversee the comprehensive scope of work related to the Growing Together Community School Partnership including the Integrated Student Supports work through the Communities in Schools Program. The Field Support manager will provide the training, leadership, and support to the school-based staff in the below mentioned areas:

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

Management & Leadership

  • Provide clear direction and non-evaluative feedback to Growing Together school-based staff in individual check-ins and group meetings
  • Assist in the monitoring of school-based staff performance to include progress toward tasks and goals and providing services to address student and school needs
  • Communicate site-based needs and feedback to Program Director to strengthen partnership and program implementation
  • Oversee administrative tasks for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Communities In Schools program
  • Ensure collaboration is effective within each Community School’s site-based team
  • Participate in national and regional professional organizations and conferences related to research and best practices

Project Operations

  • Ensure alignment between Community School Site Manager and CIS Site Coordinator goals and work at Full Service Community School sites
  • Visit each school site at least twice per month to conduct program observations and provide support/supervision to team members
  • Monitor CIS caseload goals and services by reviewing data reports, addressing red flags, monitoring findings, and assisting the Program Director in creating a plan with staff that includes action steps toward meeting goals
  • Assure quality of programming through regular site visits, review of monthly reports, and school service delivery plan coaching
  • Support site-based needs by coordinating and distributing program ideas, resources, and activities that support the mission and model
  • Report, collaborate, and communicate with various stakeholders, partners, and school leaders
  • Provide support when needed to volunteers, Family Captains, Family Mentors, and other parent/community leaders
  • Support site-based staff to operate outside of school time programs and events

Training & Support

  • Support school-based team members in reaching their professional growth goals
  • Coordinate and design support services for new hires
  • Facilitate weekly team collaboration meetings with a focus on project management
  • Develop and collect professional development resources and training materials for program staff; implement staff development workshops; support the development of team’s leadership capacities
  • Assist and support in Community Schools Project development and implementation
  • Develop, implement, and communicate clear action steps to assist staff in meeting program goals
  • Provide guidance and support to CIS Site Coordinators through modeling and coaching targeted areas such as effective service planning and delivery, building relationships, and case management skills
  • Support implementation and improvement of community engagement strategies such as volunteer coordination, community school councils, adult education programming, and various working groups.

Administration

  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required
  • Attend regular check-ins and submit status reports to Directors outlining site and staff specific information
  • Ensure data collection is occurring on schedule. Review data for quality.
  • Ensure the completion of required programmatic reports and tasks
  • Assist site-based staff in planning appropriate expenditures and maintaining budgets

Required education, experience, and skills:

  • Master’s degree in education, social work, public administration or related field OR extensive work experience leading program evaluations
  • Bilingual and biliterate (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Five or more years of experience working in schools and/or youth-serving organizations; program management and supervisory experience preferred
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, communication, interorganizational collaboration, relationship building, teamwork, and using workplace technology
  • Experience with program evaluation as well as data collection and analysis
  • Skill and comfort in facilitating and leading large and small group meetings
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and serving under-resourced communities
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively

Physical requirements:

  • Be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Pass various background checks
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evening and possible weekend events
  • Travel requirements:
  • Occasional out-of-state travel required
  • Regular travel between ten Tulsa Public Schools sites and Growing Together office

Day in the Life of the Field Support Manager

This is an example of how a typical day in the field support manager role may look:

  • 7:30-9:30: You visit a first-year site coordinator at ABC elementary. The site coordinator needs assistance with using a data management system, which you provide. Then, you work with the site coordinator to analyze their student growth data to identify which students might need increased support hours in the coming weeks.
  • 9:30-11:30: You meet with a community school manager at another school site to assist them in planning a family engagement event at their site. You provide feedback and guidance while planning to ensure the event is strategically aligned to school and program goals.
  • 11:30-12:30: Lunch
  • 12:30-2:30: One of the site coordinators has had difficulty facilitating their school support team meetings, so you attend the meeting to observe and offer facilitation tips after the meeting has concluded. You help the site coordinator plan the agenda for their next meeting.
  • 2:30-4:30: You return to the Growing Together office. A new month has recently begun, so you spend some time reviewing the team’s data in a database so that you will be prepared to request follow-ups on incomplete tasks and can design coaching support that is driven by data.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
