A. PURPOSE OF JOB
Support the Store Manager by maintaining, directing and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the store with a large emphasis in inventory management and customer service. Subject matter expert on AWOR.
B. JOB DUTIES
• Assist and collaborates with SM to conduct employee reviews and deliver / implement development and training plans per individual, unique needs, quarterly.
• Collaborate with SM and DO to determine and execute inventory and merchandising needs.
• Conducts daily huddles with all staff, to keep employees aware of store goals and their progress, promotions, events and operational needs by day.
• Develop, establish and uphold strict organizational standards. In stock rooms, receiving areas, side yards breakrooms, offices, company vehicles and other employee only areas.
• Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient by leading daily operations on the floor.
• Ensures the staff is trained, motivated, presentable and punctual through accountability of the Shift or Department Supervisors.
• Ensures the store is clean, in-stocked and always recovered through a process driven approach.
• Identifies potential new leaders, mentors and manages their development through Process driven training.
• Identify opportunities and leverage process driven results to alleviate the overstock and obsolete inventory in collaboration with the SM and DO to most efficiently execute.
• Maintain a work balance of 80 percent floor and 20 percent admin work.
• Meets bi-weekly with DO and all other store ASM/ SMs to discuss, financials, operations, human capital and facilities.
• Meets weekly with SM and Shift Supervisors to discuss financials, operations, human capital and inventory management.
• Primarily responsible for directing the associates by directing Shift Supervisors and their performance throughout the day.
• Provides clear and prioritized direction to Shift Supervisors regarding inventory process and accuracy responsibilities delivered with time bound expectations.
• Collaborates with SM regarding schedules to provide optimal service and meet operational and financial goals.
• Recommends and follows up on store maintenance for facilities in collaboration with the SM.
• Reports directly to the SMs and maintains best practices / acts as SM when SM is not in building.
• Responsible for a thorough understanding, execution and implementation of AWOR best practices.
• Responsible for all aspects of inventory management and execution of 7-day inventory workflow.
• Responsible for maintaining acceptable store supply levels.
• Responsible for understanding and enforcing company policies.
• Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate execution of all store processes and procedures.
• Responsible to have a thorough understanding and accountability to all subordinate job descriptions.
• Undertake accountability for items used for store use by scrutinizing all store use items.
• Works with SM and DO to develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability.
C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• College degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years retail experience required.
• Previously a Shift Supervisor or growth development candidate within Ace Hardware Organization or another hardware store chain.

• Aware of retail product and merchandising trends

• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge AWOR inventory management best practices
• Demonstrates situational awareness.
• Effective communicate with a varied audience with clear and concise directives

• Financial and budget understanding and knowledge
• Tech proficient
E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Climb stairs and ladders using proper safety measures.
• Lifting up to 80 lbs.
• Minimum of 45 hour work week plus additional hours during peak seasons or as business necessitates
• Standing for lengthy periods (up to 10 hours or more)
F. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all employees and operational processes in the store.
