Assesses the mental health and medical statuses of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises Develops nursing care plans promoting emotional well-being and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Fosters a safe and nurturing environment that encourages and reinforces constructive interactions amongst patients Assists patients with the development of personal safety plans Conducts age appropriate psycho-educational groups Administers medications, monitors for side effects and medicationefficacy Delegates nursing interventions to LPNs and behavioral health technicians Communicates and collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team

Experience

• Demonstrate an understanding of the physical, social and psychological needs of adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrate the ability to deliver care to these patients.

Education

• Associates or better in Nursing

• Bachelors or better in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications

• L-IL-RN License
• C-AHA BLS Basic Cardiac
