Grandma's Place Early Learning Center is Hiring an Infant/Toddler Teacher Near Portland, OR

ABOUT YOU:

  • First and foremost, we are looking for teachers who love children, especially when doing so takes patience and understanding.
  • We are looking for teachers who can work closely with families to meet the needs of individual children.
  • We embrace learning through play, and we are looking for teachers are able to observe and talk with children, and then write a curriculum based on the interests of the classroom.
  • We are looking for team players and co-teachers. Co-teaching takes excellent interpersonal skills.
  • We are looking for commitment and grit.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:

  • We do not have a corporate structure. Teachers have a lot of classroom autonomy.
  • We always have a director on site to assist with emergencies, challenging situations, an extra potty break when needed.
  • We close 2 weeks out the year, and pay teachers for most of those weeks, regardless of their tenure.
  • We have a dedicated break person - never miss a break again!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Background check through ODE - ELD ("R number").

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
