About the Position

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Finance & Administration leader to oversee and lead our finance, accounting, IT and business office functions at Grand Living Management World Headquarters. Besides being a natural leader with the ability to manage high-performing teams, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance professional with a strong accounting background, a thorough understanding of the information technology landscape and its applications within a hospitality business operating in multiple states, and a comprehensive view of the business office processes that best support success in senior living environments. The Vice President of Finance & Administration will be uniquely positioned to collaborate with the President and COO in setting the company’s financial and administrative direction in support of the company’s pursuits and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, tax planning, financial reporting, and financial analysis to support informed decision-making
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain a high-performing finance and administration team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement

Accounting and Reporting

  • Provide leadership to the Controller and the team of accountants, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all regulatory requirements
  • Implement, maintain and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets

IT Management

  • Provide leadership to the Director of IT, overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of IT processes, including deployment of new equipment, inventory tracking, enrollment into systems, troubleshooting, and helpdesk response and efficiency
  • Ensure IT initiatives support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency and security
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Business Office Operations

  • Provide leadership to the Business Office Manager, overseeing billing, collections, and the AR processes for resident billing
  • Streamline business office operations to optimize revenue cycle management and minimize delinquencies
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial and administrative processes
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures while optimizing financial performance

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with a CPA or CMA certification preferred; bonus points for an MBA or other relevant advanced degree
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in the hospitality or senior living industry
  • Proven track record of developing others and implementing successful financial strategies
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, accounting software, and IT systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, motivate, and coach a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of information technology systems and their application within a financial context
  • Strategic thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to drive results through collaboration and innovation

Reporting Structure

While the Vice President of Finance and Administration will be a partner to colleagues throughout the company, the position will report to the President and COO at Grand Living Management World Headquarters.
