Grain Craft is Hiring an Utility Worker Near Blackfoot, ID

Position Summary: Grain Craft, is a dynamic and high-performance milling company with 12 manufacturing mills in seven (7) states, stretching coast-to-coast. As the largest private flour milling company in the nation, Grain Craft has an immediate opening in our Blackfoot, Idaho mill for a full time Plant Utility Worker. This entry-level position is for mill/plant sanitation work in the facility and will train to be operator relief in all departments. This will also include Preventive Maintenance work when scheduled. This job requires working rotating shifts.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for assigned floors and weekly master sanitation tasks.
  • Provides mill operator relief
  • Cleans bins and rail cars on a daily basis
  • Performs an inspection list; performs weekly duties from the Master Sanitation Checklist
  • Performs preventative maintenance duties
  • At all times an employee needs to be actively maintaining a safety culture and always thinking of personal safety and those that you are working with
  • Follows Plant GMP requirements and always be thinking of food safety when working on or around equipment
  • Works independently by being able to find new tasks when done with other essential job functions, without being guided to do so.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Non-Essential Job Duties:

  • Drags spouts
  • Assists with maintenance personnel as needed
  • Performs various mill projects as they arise
  • Cleans elevator pit
  • Serves on safety and food safety committee
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Work Schedule: This job will be assigned rotating shifts.

Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: Prefers experience in farming, flour, food production environment, warehouse and quality assurance, but not required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Conditions can include: hot summer temperatures (70 - 100 degrees), cold winter temperatures (below freezing – subzero) and windy conditions (in excess of 40 MPH)
  • Must be able to work in confined / tight spaces

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to understand, apply and retain oral and/or written instructions, complex problems, and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions. Ability to apply common sense in performing the job; make decisions which have a significant impact on the immediate work unit and department. Ability to complete routine forms, using existing form letter and/or conduct routine oral communications. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately.
