SUMMARY: The Logistics Coordinator requires a dynamic team member who is a great communicator, multitasker, and problem solver who puts customer service first in meeting the needs of internal and external Grain Craft customers. Participation as a team member to meet and exceed the customer requirements including, but not limited to the following.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Accurate customer order entry, to include support of plant production scheduling, interpreting many forms of customer orders through Orders Birmingham and many other orders capture methods. Maintain active schedule of product inbound and outbound minute by minute with great communication to all customers accounting for random schedule changes.
  • Facilitate logistics solutions for both bulk and bag shipments with internal and external transportation partners to ensure secure and timely delivery of just-in-time customer orders. Including demurrage discovery and reconciliation each day.
  • Accurate daily billing of flour and co-product invoices to include digital entry into business system software.
  • Receiving and making phone calls to all customers to ensure excellent communication relationships are developed and maintained, schedule and forward planning for production, shipment, and delivery needs, in support of our customers and Grain Craft.
  • Assist with HR support at plant level including support of new hire onboarding, benefits enrolment and team member support daily.
  • This position is involved in customer delivery and logistics support and will participate in shared after hours support, (including on weekends), of delivery logistics for customers. Including use of company computer and phone offsite as needed to support and trouble shoot customer delivery challenges with our transportation partners.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Outlook. Typing and 10-key entry skills a must.
  • Excellent communication skills with accuracy, accounting principles, analytical skills, multi-tasking, with a positive attitude regarding teamwork and process improvement.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and develop skills with possibility for more advancement, willingness to travel to customer location if needed.
  • Participation in various projects and continuous process improvements within teams and as an individual contributor, including in a backup support role.
  • Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle, between effected departments including procurement and distribution, ensuring expectations and deadlines are met.
  • Help process weekly and month end reporting of production and inventory reconciliation on TruGrain System.
  • This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in an effective and respectful manner, while being responsible for performing duties in the best interest of Grain Craft, fellow employees, and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required. Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred
  • 2 years professional experience in customer service or transportation/logistics
  • Clear communicator, able to represent and manage business, carriers, and customer relationships and requirements.
  • Ability to effectively build credibility and trust with businesses
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence without authority and collaborate with other function areas and businesses.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and write effectively. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to manager, team members, and external parties and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to apply basic math concepts. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to such tasks as frequency distribution.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions and deal with common variables.
