Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Commercial Construction Estimator to accurately estimate costs associated with commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. As a key member of their team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the profitability and success of their projects by providing accurate and timely estimates.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimations.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present estimates to management and clients, explaining cost breakdowns and assumptions.
  • Track and maintain records of project costs, changes, and updates throughout the construction process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
