The Director of Nursing (DON) is a key member of the nursing leadership team and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the nursing department. The DON works closely with their team to ensure that the nursing department provides high-quality care to all residents.
Duties and Responsibilities for Director of Nursing:
- Meet the nursing medical needs of all residents
- Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Supervise and train nursing staff
- Conduct patient rounds
- Manage the nursing budget
- Comply with all regulatory requirements
- Promote a culture of safety and quality
- Represent the nursing department to other departments and stakeholders
Qualifications for Director of Nursing:
- Current RN or LPN license
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
