Salary Information: Annual Minimum Salary-$58,400-Annual Maximum Salary-$93,400
Hiring Range: $28.08-$36.49
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c) (3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.
The University currently offers the degrees of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans to develop other programs and/or colleges. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities adds another 100 students to the population. The campus includes 300 employees with academic programming spread over a five state region.

General Summary:
The School of Dental Medicine Assistant Director for Clinical Operations is responsible for assisting the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in managing the clinical and administrative operations of the SDM Office of Clinical Affairs and the geographically dispersed student dental clinics as part of the dental education mission of PNWU. The focus of the position is to ensure a seamless and integrated clinical education for the students while contributing to the continued success and viability of the dental program.
Essential Job Functions:
•1. Provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Clinical Affairs, including:
a. Compliance of the clinical education related to university, regional, and national accreditation.
b. Organize and supervise the collecting and reporting of various aspects of clinical data related to the SDM's stated outcomes assessment goals and strategies for improvement of the program.
c. Oversees Student Clinical Handbook updates.
d. Coordinates academic and clinical schedules with the Office of Academic Affairs, PNWU Facilities Office and FQHC partners.
e. Assists the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in the overall execution of office responsibilities.
•2. Responsible for tracking and reporting students' progress in completing clinical competency assessments and maintaining student clinical education records, including coordination with clinical site managers and working directly with students on any issues.
•3. Develops and maintains relationships with intra- and inter-state clinical education sites and implementation of student rotations to dental clinics outside of their assigned community clinics.
•4. Oversees, maintains and updates all working documents within the Office of Clinical Affairs and provides current, clinic-based information at student orientations.
•5. Requires traveling to community clinics and rotation sites throughout the academic year to work directly with SDM faculty, staff and students, and FQHC partners, regarding the management and documentation of clinical activities performed by students and faculty.
•6. Perform other related duties as assigned and based on need for the success of the program.
Requirements
Education:
•Required: Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
•Required: 4-6 years in the dental field in the capacity of the business office with experience as a dental assistant or a dental hygienist
•Preferred: Experience working in a dental-related education program

Skill in effective and clear communication with all individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization; skill in independent decision-making; skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature; skills for problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizing; knowledge of dental clinic administrative procedures and practices; ability to identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies in documents and processes and make corrections as required; and strong computer skills (MS Office Suite) and ability to learn additional software platforms to assist with monitoring clinical education, scheduling in-person and virtual activities/meetings, and developing presentations for various audiences.
