Food Service Director
Governor Wentworth Regional School District is seeking a Food Service Director to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the School Lunch Program for the ultimate health, comfort and benefits of the students.
Supervise all food service personnel.
Operate 4 USDA programs: National School Lunch, School Breakfast, After School Snack and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
File monthly claims for reimbursement for all 4 program types.
Plan menus in compliance with federal requirements and guidelines.
Plan, assign and direct the work of school lunch employees.
Direct the preparation of food, quantity control and quality control in school kitchen.
Direct cleaning and sanitation procedures in school kitchens.
Purchase food, supplies, and equipment.
Order commodities annually using the WEBSCM system.
Assume responsibility for the security of food, supplies, and equipment.
Instruct new employees in performing their assigned tasks.
Employ or dismiss school lunch personnel in compliance with Support Staff Policy and School Board Policy.
Evaluate the performance of all school lunch employees.
Comply with and respond to all information needed for procurement or administrative reviews.
Be an active member of the NH Buying Group. NHBG bids cover a large part of required procurement. Manage other procurement in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Assume responsibility for revenue of school lunch program.
Maintain required records for the operation of the lunch program: receipts; expenditures; accounts payable/receivable; free and reduced-price meal applications; record paid, reduced price and free student meals, adult meals and a a-la-carte sales; inventories; and student/teacher/parent involvement.
Assist schools with functions involving student groups and organizations.
Maintain records for Federal/State requirements and reimbursements.
Provide training and Professional Standards opportunities are required for staff.
Ensure Smart Snack compliance.
Download and import the monthly Direct Certification data.
Complete the annual Verification process.
Complete and upload the i4see BOY and EOY data.
Complete the annual State applications for NSLP, CACFP and After School Snacks.
This position also provides services for Middleton School District.
Must have food service experience, in a supervisory role.
Health requirements in compliance with district policy.
Understanding of National School Lunch requirements, State requirements and nutritional values.
Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
This position reports to the Business Administrator.
Full time, year-round. Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Position starts July 1, 2025
