Overview: Government Street Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our Christ-centered environment. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting physical fitness and overall well-being among students as well as assisting in their spiritual growth.
Duties:
- Develop and implement physical education lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and Alabama Course of Study
- Instruct students on proper exercise techniques and sports rules
- Organize and supervise physical activities and sports events
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during physical education classes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
- State teaching certification in Physical Education is preferred
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of various sports, fitness activities, and health concepts
- CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
