If you love the outdoors and are interested in living and working in one of the most beautiful areas of the West, we have an amazing opportunity available. Goulding’s Lodge located in Monument Valley, Utah is currently seeking a Grocery Store Manager.

In this key position, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Grocery Store to provide exceptional customer service, optimize sales and increase profitability. You will live on property with all of your housing expenses covered.

Essential Functions:

• Review store operations on a regular basis to recommend areas of potential cost reductions, net profit improvement or enhancement to the customer experience.
• Review P&L’s monthly to identify opportunities for improvement in sales, cost control, staffing, etc.
• Develop process improvements to maximize sales and profitability.
• Manage inventory to ensure that the appropriate products are being ordered at the right time, at the correct quantities and at the best price to provide the best offerings to customers and to reduce the write-off of out of date goods/spoilage. Monitor inventory for theft.
• Manage staff including hiring, training, performance management, compensation, career development, ongoing coaching and feedback and termination.
• Provide direction and guidance to grocery staff in their assigned job duties.
• Review schedules to ensure employees are being utilized efficiently and overtime is kept to a minimum.
• Maintain guest satisfaction levels by ensuring all guest complaints are resolved in a timely manner.
• Maintain the physical appearance of the store, ensuring it is clean, safe and appealing to customers. This also includes the restrooms, back rooms and receiving areas.
• Ensure all computers, point of sale equipment, etc. are operating appropriately.
• Ensure shelves are maintained properly including being clean, organized, attractive and fully stocked with appropriately labeled merchandise.
• Set-up product displays in store entrance and other sections according to merchandising standards.
• Manage product storage (coolers and refrigerators) and rotation activities to reduce spoilage and damage.
• Follow and enforce store policies, safety and sanitation guidelines, security measures and customer service standards.

Education and Experience:

H.S. Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Must have a minimum of 15 years of grocery/retail experience with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
