Development Coordinator
Department: Development
Work Location: Benson Park - 72nd & Ames
Employment Status: Full-Time
Pay Range: $21.63-$24.03
JOB SUMMARY
This position will work closely with the Development & Grant Manager to sustain and grow opportunities to financially advance Goodwill’s mission. This includes grant writing, database management, fundraising, special events, and administrative support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Research and prospect potential grant opportunities. Maintain a grants calendar and communicate changes, updates and deadlines.
  • Work closely with other department staff to compile grant documentation, complete and submit grant applications and/or renewals to designated funding sources.
  • In conjunction with department staff, prepare and submit all public and private reporting requirements according to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor and communicate any changes in contract regulations or modifications in support of department staff.
  • Provide grant compliance reports internal/external meetings, reporting requirements or as requested by department staff.
  • Ensure that all gifts, in-kind gifts and gift documentation are accurately entered and processed into Net Suite.
  • Ensure the proper handling of pledge and cash donations according to P&P ACCT-143.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports; implement new and better ways to achieve the highest possible outcomes for all programs.
  • Supports fundraising events with logistics, planning, and coordination.
  • Supports community events coordination.
  • Must be able to work occasional evening or weekend events as needed.
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Education, Human Services, or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in grant writing and related responsibilities is preferred.
  • 2 years of non-profit experience is preferred.

  • None required

  • Must have excellent analytical and math skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have outstanding attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to work independently.
  • Must have good research skills in order to stay current with changes in government or other funding regulations.
  • Must be able to understand, interpret, and apply complex information regarding regulations.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be tactful in communication with funding liaisons and staff.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Must have good computer skills and a working knowledge of databases.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to travel to participant sites.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency skills in excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary
Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Limited
General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
