PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Aspire embraces flexibility, individualized attention, and community integration. The program provides engaging experiences both at the Goodwill facility and out in the community. Individuals choose curriculum-based modules that meet their interests and will support their independence and participation in community life and/or work.
Modules may include: computer literacy, career exploration, self-care and advocacy, financial literacy, recreation, wellness, cooking and nutrition, art and music, adult basic special education, volunteering, managing an apartment, transportation and mobility, and more.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Aspire Program Assistant you would be responsible for supporting program participants in developing increased levels of community integration and employability skills by facilitating learning activities, coaching, and/or otherwise mentoring participants. This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping to implement goals and document goal progress. A Valid driver’s license is required.
Duties will also include but are not limited to:
External Hiring Range: $13.50 up to $14.04/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00am - 3:30pm) schedule can vary depending on department needs.
Travel Required: Yes, staff may be asked to transport program participants in Goodwill vehicles for volunteering and/or community enrichment activities.
Required Experience: must be in working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD).
