Goodwill Northern New England is Hiring a Case Manager I Near Lewiston, ME

Job Summary:  

The Case Manager is responsible for the advocacy, care coordination, case record maintenance, and communication with insurance companies of individuals with acquired brain injuries. Other duties include: 

  • Collects information about service recipients and their support systems using interviews, case history, and observation. Confers with Clinical Director and treatment team, individually and in team meetings, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate the information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs. 
  • Reviews service plans and performs follow-ups to determine service quantity, quality, and satisfaction. 
  • Prepare service plans, progress summaries, meeting minutes, progress notes, and other documentation as needed. Presents written and verbal information to team members, service recipients, family members, payors, and other stakeholders in an understandable, timely, and helpful manner. 
  • Obtains insurance authorizations and ensures clients do not exceed the authorized amount by tracking and obtaining follow-up authorizations. 
  • Regularly meets with clients and/or their guardian(s) / support team to review care, clinic policies, and changes to service plans. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Rehabilitation, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work 40 hours weekly between 8 am-6 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a flexible position and has no on-call or weekend obligations.
  • Experience in Human Services.
  • A Valid driver’s license.
  • A criminal background check that meets Agency standards. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the treatment or case management of Acquired Brain Injuries. 
  • Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office software.
