GOODWILL INDUSTRIES GROUP is Hiring a HR Administrator II - Western Headquarters - FT Near South Bend, IN

Job Objective:

To provide administrative support for the Human Resources department with a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. This role will contribute to efforts of maximizing organizational effectiveness and compliance to support the strategic goals of the company. This position reports to the Human Resources Specialist who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
  • Embodies our company Core Values of Work, Ethics, Respect and Development.
  • Administers HRIS database by updating employee data and adhering to changes in processes.
  • Assists with various assigned tasks such as: I9 auditing, reporting requirements, license tracking, maintaining the company online job opening list, etc.
  • Assists the HR Specialist with various assigned tasks such as: insurance plan administration and communication, unemployment claims issues, etc.
  • Provides support to the Human Resources Administrator on employee inquiries, including email, telephone and in-person visitors.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of human resources forms and documents.
  • Answers basic employee questions about human resources policies or offerings.
  • Assists with processing employee status changes and benefit enrollments in HRIS system.
  • Supports the HR Specialist with maintenance of elected employee benefits and reporting.
  • Inputs HR related data and compiles standard reports for management review.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in or the ability to use HRIS software to maintain employee records, generate reports, and streamline HR processes.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Administrative training required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Proficiency in typing and using computer keyboards, as well as good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as data entry and document handling.
  • Clear vision and the ability to focus on computer screens, documents, and other materials for extended periods.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via video conferencing either with or without assistance.
  • Some mobility may be required for tasks such as filing documents, retrieving files, and attending meetings within the office environment.
  • Occasional lifting of light objects such as files, office supplies, or equipment may be necessary, although this is typically minimal.
  • Some repetitive motions, such as typing or using a mouse, may be involved in daily tasks.
  • Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
