Job description
We are seeking a Social Services Director (designee) for a competency training program in a locked inpatient psychiatric facility. The Social Services Director provides social work services for 24 residents participating in competency restoration. Cients are deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST) and engage in training to regain competency and return to court to face their charges. The SSD completes weekly status updates, quarterly reports, and care planning with the treatment team.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of a H.S. Diploma with at least 2 yrs of health care experience
- Valid SSD Certification Program completion
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of discharge planning process and community resources
- Basic knowledge of special needs of the chronically mentally ill population

Job Responsibilities:
- Under guidance of the program director, will oversee training and duties of competency trainers
- Tracking of referrals and communicating with PMU and other referral sources
- Updating census for internal tracking and for DSH tracking purposes
- Uploading admission and discharge packets to Share drive
- Manage correspondences with respective courts including: sending court letters, court reports, confirmation notices, and any other court documents
- Identifies and provides social services needs for patients on assigned unit
- Coordinates visits, calls, and other client correspondences
- Attends discharge, care plan, staff and quarterly staffing meetings
- Any other duties as assigned by a Clinical / Program Director
