TITLE: SR ANALYST I - PRODUCT ANALYTICS AND RISKSTATUS: EXEMPTREPORTS TO: MGR - PRODUCT ANALYTICS AND RISK - DEPOSITSDEPARTMENT: ANALYTICS AND RISK - DEPOSITSJOB CODE: 11537PAY SCALE: $108,500.00 - $125,000.00 ANNUALLYGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Sr. Analyst I, Product Analytics & Risk - Deposits is responsible for development of reporting and analytics supporting risk/return strategies and ongoing risk management of Golden 1's Deposit programs to meet member financial needs, enable sustainable growth and optimize economic returns. PURPOSE STATEMENT:Efficiently and effectively manage product risk and provide insight into the development/management of financial products and services that meet members’ needs and improve financial health. Ensure the financial safety and soundness of Golden 1 through the active management of product guidelines and economic returns to enable sustainable growth. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:Create data storytelling, converting data into usable information to assist the Credit Union in making data driven decisions.Assist Leadership and Senior Analysts with complex analysis, using data to add value to our business partners.Assist with preparation of documentation of analysis to create a report of findings.Manage required ad hoc report preparation, analysis, and presentation to management as reference for strategic decisions, committee review and other information requests.Using Excel and SQL, aggregate multiple data sources into a single story to summarize the results of a review into actionable points for Senior Management.Manage required ad hoc report preparation, analysis, and presentation to management as reference for strategic decisions, committee review and other information requests.Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.Continue to expand on an understanding of lending/deposit rates, policies and procedures impacting responsibilities.Perform reviews or validations of Product Analyst I/II/III work prior to, or in lieu of, review by Team Leadership.Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.Work with Leadership and with other Analysts on complex analysis, using data to add value to our business partners. Develop reports for executive management and credit union committees, ensuring that the reports are accurate and thorough.Use Statistical concepts and tools to find causation, patterns, and trends.Assist with modeling and model creation to solve complex problems.Recommend enhancements to analytical modeling tools to further support strategic plans and initiatives.Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements for projects.Lead complex analysis projects, coordinating and delegating work to Jr Analysts and business partners to ensure success.Proactively ask questions and use data to answer these questions, creating new knowledge adding value to the Credit Union.Gather and integrate data and contextual information to design rigorous analyses to support carefully crafted projections.Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to build periodic lag/lead trend analysis reports, and present insights and findings that are relevant, actionable, and visually appealing to management.Review and maintain an understanding of current and future economic landscape and internal and external influences.Develop and provide written and verbal recommendations and alternative solutions based on the results of analyses, taking into consideration internal and external factors and the Credit Union’s strategic goals and initiatives.Assist with workflow, monitoring the ticketing queue for new work and ensuring it is assigned to the right teammate for success.Assist with the technical skill growth and business knowledge growth of Jr AnalystsRisk Strategy: Develop and implement key risk strategies for lending and/or deposit products.Customer Analytics: Leverage diverse sources of data to develop insights into customer behavior, preferences, and needs.Reporting and Analytics: Deliver accurate and timely reporting, dashboards, and visualizations to key stakeholders, enabling them to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.Risk Identification: Identify risks to the organization via ongoing reporting of key metrics and portfolio trends.Efficiency: Identify opportunities to leverage technology and streamline risk processes, driving automation, efficiency, and improved member experience.Industry Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in retail risk management, and implement relevant changes to enhance risk reporting.Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to retail financial services products. Ensure that product risk is managed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional partners, such as marketing, finance, operations, and IT, to achieve defined outcomes.Represent credit union in contacts with business and trade associations, members, and regulatory agencies. Attend civil functions and otherwise promote the credit union’s image. PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:Effective oral and written communication skills.Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone.ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:INTERNAL: Board of Directions, Management Group, and StaffEXTERNAL: C.C.U.L., community organizations, vendors, suppliers, and peers in financial institution.QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative disciplineEXPERIENCE: 8 years or more of analytics and risk management experience with an emphasis on Deposits – origination and portfolio management.8 years or more of progressive banking/credit union experience.Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within credit union operations. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Required-Expert knowledge in the following systems/applications:Microsoft Excel- Formulas, functions, pivot tables, dashboard creation, data connections and basic macrosMicrosoft OfficeSQL.Preferred-Intermediate knowledge with SAS Enterprise Guide, Python, and/or R.Provide guidance and training to Junior Product Analysts.Mentor and develop employees throughout the department to assist with skills growth.Effective delegation skills; knows when to delegate and when to lead.Ability to effectively lead efficient meetings.Supports team and department leadership with projects.Supports teammates.Self-Motivated, can stay focused with minimal oversight.Takes ownership of their own professional and personal development to ensure their skills remain current and relevant.Attention to detail; ensures accuracy in work product.Ability to independently prioritize tasks.Leverages available tools and resources to stay organized and proactive.Takes initiative to identify, investigate and resolve stakeholder issues, including operational and support situations.Establishes, monitors, and reports key performance indicators.Takes the lead on projects to see them to completion.Helps manage the team workload and delegates work appropriately.Ability to speak on behalf of the Leadership Team.Adept in resolving conflicts in a professional manner.Knows when work product requires additional attention to presentation and acts accordingly to ensure deliverables match the need.Is available and sought after as a resource of relevant skill and knowledge.Able to speak in technical and business language based on the audience.Solid presentation skills; Speaks clearly and confidently.Makes complicated information understandable to the audience.Confident communicating with all levels of management outside the team, including executive leadership.Takes time to understand co-workers work goals and supports them in their effort to do their best work.Demonstrated excellence at putting plans into action to achieve mutually agreed upon goals in a fast-paced professional environment.Proven track record of successfully developing and managing risk strategies for retail products within financial services. Understanding of the various risks (credit, operational, market, etc.) and management approaches within retail financial products and digital/analog operations.Excellent analytical skills and ability to leverage data and customer insights to inform product, risk, pricing, and marketing strategies.Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.Ability to effectively synthesize analytic results into concise and impactful business cases with clear recommendations.Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.Corrected vision within the normal range.Hearing within normal range.
