Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator/Web Portal Administrator to oversee the maintenance, configuration, and security of our systems infrastructure and web portals. The Systems Administrator/Web Portal Administrator will be responsible for managing user accounts, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing enhancements to improve functionality and usability. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Administer and maintain systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage devices, to ensure reliability, availability, and performance.
• Manage web portals and content management systems, including installation, configuration, and customization of software applications and plugins.
• Monitor system performance and security, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
• Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for systems and web portals, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform regular backups, updates, and patches to systems and web applications to maintain optimal performance and security posture.
• Troubleshoot technical issues reported by users, providing timely resolution and escalating complex issues to senior technical staff as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and service providers to implement new systems, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for systems administration and web portal management tasks.
• Plans and leads major technology assignments.
• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• May supervise others.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s system’s hardware and software.
• Have a broad understanding of different aspects of IT, including hardware, software, networking, and security.
• Extensive knowledge of web and portal administration and experience working with web-based solutions, including web servers, content management systems, and portal platforms.
• Knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web services.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure solutions, including knowledge of security protocols, authentication, and authorization.
• Ability to manage projects and lead teams, including experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical staff.
• Familiarity with DoD regulations, policies, and procedures related to information technology, security, and privacy.
• Familiarity with government and industry standards, such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA, is also desirable working in the Department of Defense.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in a STEM field or equivalent years of experience.
• At least 5 – 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SharePoint administration, including site collections, web applications, and service applications.
• Experience with Windows Server, including active directory, group policy, and server virtualization.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
• Experience with IT service management practices and a deep understanding of security and risk management.
• Must have an Active DoD Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) are also valuable.
