Summary:

Goldbelt, Inc. is in search of a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for all daily accounting functions supporting Goldbelt, Inc. subsidiaries, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, billing, monthly financial report preparation, and other reporting responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will work closely with other members of the accounting team, subsidiary management and other departments as necessary.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee the accounts payable function by reviewing/posting accounts payable, monitoring accounts payable to ensure timely payment and assisting in processing of accounts payable.
  • Sets up contracts and task orders in the accounting system.
  • Billing of customer invoices.
  • Billing for all intercompany costs incurred as appropriate.
  • Preparation and oversight of Journal Entries.
  • Maintain electronic files to ensure proper document retention for all transactions processed.
  • Reconciliation of all accounts. Reconciliation includes preparation of schedules to support all account balances.
  • Provide customer service support for questions and requests from other accounting team members and executive management.
  • Responsible to provide supporting documentation in conjunction with audits or similar activities.
  • Responsible to ensure data is recorded the in-accounting system for all transactions is processed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure adherence to standard deadlines and timely closing in accordance with established schedule.
  • Supports the preparation and maintenance of various financial reports, budget documents, reports, and statements.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of relevant cost accounting principles, GAAP, as well as FAR regulations.
  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to embrace change, learn quickly, and thrive in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Skill in working harmoniously within cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Possesses attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and with outside agencies, partners, shareholders, and business associates.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt messages and strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Government contract accounting experience and a working knowledge of relevant cost accounting principles, GAAP, as well as FAR regulations.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating in multi-subsidiary environments strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs) and/or previous exposure to Alaska Native cultures.
  • Previous government contracting experience.

Pay and Benefits

Salary Range: $87,100 - $130,700 annually.
