Summary:
Goldbelt C6, LLC., is seeking a Regional Alumni Coordinator to provide contract support to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ Office of Alumni Affairs (ECA/P/A). The Regional Alumni Coordinator will support coordination between ECA and U.S. missions to engage with international exchange alumni, including past participants of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and alumni from the NEA region. In close coordination with appropriate contacts in ECA and Alumni Affairs, the Regional Alumni Coordinator works closely with the RACs and relevant stakeholders to design and carry out in-person and virtual alumni programming and provide information to USG offices on resources for exchange alumni.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with U.S. embassies, State Department colleagues, NGOs, and alumni to build and maintain the global alumni network, especially in regard to YALI alumni and alumni from the NEA region.
  • Maintain regional and country profile reports on engagement projects supported by the Office of Alumni Affairs.
  • Collect stories and draft content and highlights for senior leadership, website, and social media, about alumni program successes and send regular updates that demonstrate the impact of alumni.
  • With direction from Alumni Office staff, create and implement alumni programming in cooperation with Embassies, Consulates, ECA program offices, and the interagency, including programs that engage YALI, Regional Leadership Center (RLC), and other exchange alumni.
  • Conduct outreach presentations and promote the Exchange Alumni website through presentations to current program participants, alumni, partner NGOs, and State Department colleagues. Promote Exchange Alumni web resources to State Department stakeholders.
  • Develop website content focused on activities by and for YALI alumni and alumni from NEA.
  • Conduct briefings with outbound Foreign Service Officers and provide guidance to field based Locally Employed Staff on alumni engagement best practices and opportunities.
  • Coordinate alumni thematic seminars in collaboration with the regional bureau, posts, and implementing partners.
  • Provide back-up support to the Regional Alumni Coordinators.
  • Conduct alumni engagement training for Embassy Alumni Coordinators and other USG staff, including training on the role of the Alumni Office, alumni engagement strategy, and the use of databases and other technology.
  • Assist in various general office administration duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic familiarity with U.S. foreign policy and international educational and cultural exchanges.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proven experience in or the ability to learn the following applications:
    • MS Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Email marketing tools
    • Salesforce
  • Proven excellence in writing and oral presentations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and deliver high-quality, accurate work within targeted deadlines.
  • Ability to successfully work as a team to accomplish all tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in international affairs, regional studies, public relations, or a related field.
  • At least three full years of specialized experience which provided the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position outlined above.
  • Experience with international educational and cultural exchanges to develop program initiatives and provide information to targeted audiences.
  • Experience gathering, interpreting, and synthesizing data to inform pertinent issues to management and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in written and oral communication to provide guidance, make recommendations, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently maintains a security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Prior experience working with the U.S. Department of State is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
The salary range for this position is $100,00.00-$108,000.00 annually.
