NETWORK CONSULTING ENGINEER - CUCM

Glow Networks, a premier telecommunication staffing and consulting company, is pleased to present this opportunity for a CCIE, Collaboration or Voice, Network Consulting Engineer with expert level knowledge of CUCM. Candidates must have:

1. Ten (10) or more Years’ Experience with Cisco Voice/Collaboration technologies.
2. US Citizens with ability to obtain IRS Staff-like approval through the IRS background investigation process.
3. One or more Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Certification(s) (CCIE) in Collaboration or Voice, at a minimum, and Data Center and/or Route/Switch, as a plus.

*** Periodic on-site work is required at key IRS locations: New Carrollton, MD HQ; Martinsburg, WV, Data Center; Memphis, TN, Data Center; Ogden, UT, Data Center; other CONUS Cisco locations. ***

Summary:

The Consulting Engineers will produce Design and Engineering Documents, provide ongoing Knowledge Transfer to the IRS Government and Contractor workforce, implement IRS-required change control procedures, and support all mandates related to how Voice and Video communications function in the IRS. As the IRS has implemented one of the largest UCCE Contact Center environments in the US, some limited ad hoc support of the calling infrastructure in this environment is also expected. This may include customer scripting to support CUBE SBC communications, UCS hardware deployments in support of Virtual Voice Browsing (VVB) components, and CUCM in the Contact Center infrastructure.

Primary Functions:

• Validation of wiring between FIs, UCS chassis, NetApp storage and core switches
• Configuration of FIs and UCS per the Cisco compatibility matrix for UCS SW and firmware versions
• Verification of the resource inventory on deployed blades
• Proactive health checks across the calling infrastructure
• Replication of service profiles from existing UCS to new UCS
• VMware upgrades
• UCS upgrades

Other Functions:

• NetApp hardware lifecycle refresh
• Call Manager security vulnerability mitigation
• UCS M6 hardware migration
• VMWare upgrades required to address End of Life (EOL) challenges
• Call Manager upgrades (currently deployed on 40 blades)
• CAPF certificates deployed to all IRS phones in synchrony with IRS Enterprise changes
• Security Certificate upgrade/migration for Unity, Call Manager, CUBE, Gateways, and Cisco Emergency Responded (CER)
• Plan and Implement Phase 1 (dual stack IPv4/v6) and Phase 2 (IPv6 only) of the Federal IPv6 mandate
• Plan and Implement UC Phone Firmware/SW/HW Upgrade required to support IPv6 and 802.1x
• Participate in ongoing Security Review & Optimization programs managed by IRS CSIRC
• Participate in Filing Season Reading Configuration Review planning, especially for Gateways/CUBEs and CUCM Servers
