General Purpose:The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading the on shift maintenance team’s day to day activities by working with the Maintenance Manager, Production Management and staff to ensure that the needs of the manufacturing department are met in a timely manner in order to support the quality, output and safety goals of the department. This will be accomplished through proper scheduling, resource allocation and prioritization of maintenance activities Shift(s)2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) Monday through Friday Supervisory Responsibilities:Oversee the maintenance technicians assigned to the shift in order to support departmental goals. Directly responsible for day to day tasks performed by Maintenance Technicians I (Tech I). Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned or removed):Implement and manage as assigned, the preventative maintenance (PM) schedule of all production machines, including helping reviewing/modifying existing PM’s and helping maintenance manager (MM) develop new machine documents.Implement and manage as assigned, the preventative maintenance (PM) schedule of all mechanical infrastructure such as compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, miscellaneous filtration systems, and hydraulic systems, including modifying existing PM’s and helping maintenance manager (MM) develop new machine documents.Accommodate the manufacturing production schedule based on established priorities and availability or capability of resources such as material, machines, workers, tools, etc.Develops cooperative relationships with internal customers to ensure timely communication of needs and work progress.Trains and refreshes technicians on the method and quality of PM and repair activities. Consistently audits PM’s and repairs to provide for high quality work and efficiency.Supports and participates in all kinds of projects, especially process optimization projects, in the operations area by applying basic project management skills.Supports all LEAN activities in the operations area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles.Supports execution of regular and effective preventive maintenance as well as high quality corrective maintenance.Supports the implementation of a total productive maintenance (TPM) system.Supports the installation and testing of new equipment and processesSupports the MM in efforts to eliminate defects in service, practice, and materials. Focus on always improving the quality of maintenance and repair efforts.Continuously monitor, review, and adjust work schedule to ensure that manufacturing goals are met on time.Ability to multi-task and track of numerous responsibilities at once including providing timely feedback of progress to stake holders.Excellent scheduling and logistics skills.Good verbal and written communication skills with good attention to details.Ensures compliance to ISO, OSHA and Environmental standards and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility.Ability to effectively work in Excel, Word and ERP systems.Must be punctual and present in regular attendance.Demonstrates leadership skills by promoting team cohesion, high performance, motivating and coaching team members.Maintains a daily meeting with maintenance employees at the beginning of their shift, and facilitates shift handoff between leadership at the end of shiftKeeps his/her standard of knowledge up to date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures.Ensures the needs of maintenance staff are met regarding tools and spare / repair parts by escalating the specific needs to the appropriate personAbility and willingness to lead the maintenance shift by performing maintenance activities when required and as needed to support the goals of Manufacturing. Qualifications/Job Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Personal protective equipment is required and provided. Must be able to walk in excess of 8000 steps per day. Work Environment:The work environment is normally a climate controlled industrial manufacturing space. The manufacturing environment can vary and outdoor work can be required. Hot, cold, wind and rain can all be expected. Work could be greasy, slippery, wet, and dusty. Must be able and willing to work outdoors in the elements when required. Sharp loud noises are possible. Able to work at heights in personal lifts and drive a forklift. Position Type:This is a full-time shift leadership position. Maintenance covers three production shifts. This position will lead by example and must be willing and able to cover all gaps in staffing in order to deliver results.
