Contract Overview:

Global Citizen is seeking Policy Communications Manager for a short-term contract. This contractor will work closely with our digital content and policy teams to create policy-focused messaging and content in support of our grant partnerships and our advocacy goals. The position is responsible for several streams of policy communications work, including but not limited to our impact communications and grant partner content creation. This role will be part of the Digital Content team, but will work closely with various members of the Policy team.

Scope of Work:

Specific duties include:

• Create execute content plans for 4 to 5 grant partners, including writing original content, producing content in the CMS, and creating social assets to promote content on our channels.
• Assist with impact communications for our tentpole events, including programming on Twitter, and drafting an impact report.
• Create advocacy focused articles social content in support of policy campaigns.

Requirements:

• A clear and concise writer who's familiar with journalistic best practices. 
• A strong project manager with excellent communication skills, who can build out and follow timelines for content delivery.
• Self-starter able to effortlessly translate wonky policy topics into digestible social-first content, in line with our global social strategy. 
• Ability to develop creative content plans to satisfy grant partner deliverables. 
• Effectively communicating the impact of our campaigns once they conclude, in the form of impact reports and social media assets. 
• Excellent project management skills, be a strong communicator, a strong writer, and have an innate understanding of social media content formats.

Contract Details:

• Contract length: 5 months (June to October)
• Hours per week: 30
• Contractor must invoice Global Citizen through a legal entity.
